Holy Smokes For All Intents

January 31st 2020, That is when Burlington/London Based band Holy Smokes released their new EP "For All Intents".  This is Holy Smokes Second EP. Their first was a self titled EP released in 2017.  Known for their 70's Rock riffs mixed with a punk edge, this new EP still contains that and a whole lot more.

The Band took a hiatus as founding member Jacob Dunning moved to the Kincardain are to further his horticultural carreer.  After a little over a year of soaking up the northern experince he moved back to the golden horseshoe and with original bass player Sam Old, rekindled the band.

Holy Smokes Left to right: Matt Hare, Nelson Alexander, Jake Dunning, Sam Old

During the hiatus there where many trips to London to Jam with Sam which is where Jake met Sam's roommate Nelson Alexander. Nelson a graduate of the music program at Fanshawe College began recording some previous unreleased Tunes Jake and Sam had been working on.  The trio agreed to reboot the band and booked thier first show. Small problem was they didn't have a drummer.  Jake reached out to longtime friend Matt Hare to see if he would sit it for the gig. Matt and Jake met through the Open Mic Night at Dickens Pub in Burlington Ontario years before and had jammed many times in the past.  After the gig Matt joined the band permenantly.

The Band has played a handful of shows in Hamilton and Toronto and are looking forward to what 2020 has in store,

Their next show is February 22nd at The Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto in support of The Anti-Queens (Stomp Records) along with The Organ Thieves () and Doghouse Rose.  You can get tix here:
